9. When Captain Hart prods the citizens for a description of the man, the answers are very vague. Why doesn't the author give a solid description? BY THE WAY: There isn't one right answer to this question. Think hard about it. Don't answer it now. Give it some thought, sleep on it, and answer this one tomorrow after you've really thought about it. I don't want you to write down the first thing that comes to mind.
10. The author leaves the reader feeling that the story isn't finished. Write one last paragraph to the story.

7. Which Darwin? The telescope or Charles Darwin? I will do Charles Darwin scince we are learning about him in science. Charles Darwin discovered evolution/diversity and then made a theory on natural selection. Not every scientist agrees with his theory though. He lived from February 12, 1809 to April 19, 1882. Ray Bradbury lived from August 22, 1920 and is still living today. I think he is trying to say that their will never be peace on any planet many people have tried none have succeeded.

Calmly, the mayor and Martin shifted through the crowd until they reached a highbacked golden chair that certainly meant someone noble sat there. A man that seemed to be glowing sat there beaming at his people.
"Martin," the man suddenly exclaimed, "we've been waiting!"
7. O.K. I don't think it is the Darwin from science but I'm not sure so I'm assuming it's a fictional character. I think Darwin was a dictator who possibly made everyone follow all his rules and his beliefs. He probably lived only shortly before Captain Hart. Ray Bradbury lived from the 1920's and is still alive. (Wow, he's in his 80's almost and he came out here!) Ray Bradbury is probably trying to say that future society will go downhill and people will be at war with each other.
8. I think he is trying to say that future people will need someone to come through and stop war and fighting.
9.I can't sleep on it! the questions are due tomorrow! At first I thought Ray Bradbury wants you to visualize him, but then another thought came to my mind. Ray Bradbury wants you not only to visualize but to create your "man". Imagine what he's like, his personality, his humor or seriousness. Ray Bradbury is leaving it up to you to make "The Man" your own.
10. Martin followed the mayor, weaving their way to the area where the man waited patiently. Their footsteps making a rythym on the cobblestone streets. Thump-click-tap, Thump-click-tap went the mayor's small hard shoes and Martin's heavy boots, making a harmonious tune. Martin stepped in to a building behind city hall. There the man sat grinning, waiting for Martin to approach him. Martin stepped up to the man and poured his heart out, about evil Captain Hart, about wanting to live in the marvelous town they currently were visiting, about everything. The man gently tapped Martin's shoulder and every bit of pain that had ever hurt him hurt less and every bad memory seemed less bad. Martin walked out the same old Martin, but with a new sense of happiness.
