Question 1: I think that the main character stole the books because he wanted to have a memory. I think this because at the end he returned the eyeshade thing because he didn't want it to interfere with the memory of the books.

Question 3: The sory is in first person.
Question 4: I don't think anyone goes in the chapel because there not supposed to because it said that if he went there too much hed get ratted out.
Question 5: I knew pretty much every word so i chose two harder words: elder = older/wiser

sorry for not answering sooner! I had some problems getting on my computer.Something was wrong with the internet and then I went out of town.
1. I think the narrator is lonely and likes to read what other people have written. Almost like diaries. However, I don't understand why he took three. If they all say the same thing why take three?
2. I looked through the story but didn't find a metaphor. sorry if there was one and didn't find it.
3. I think the story is in first person.
4. The Chapel is a sort of big empty room that is only used once a year. Typically small, warm and comfortable rooms are more popular compared to drafty empty rooms.
5. vestment = a garment especialley a robe worn to show rank or office.
incense= a pleasant smell.
